Was told I'm not allowed to cook for tomorrow, except for one and absolutely one and only thing. Chicken dumplings. Not one who really lines to just bring themselves so got off of work early tonight was able to make it to Walmart , found everything I need except a while chicken or bone in breasts so gonna try and make the base /stock with the help of some chicken feet along with three boneless breasts. Pre made chicken stock works but.... idk ever since I started making it from scratch the look on people faces when they try it , well just showede it's worth the extra time care and a little bit of love. So let's see if I'm up all night. Still probably won't be as good as my mom's but , never really is it ?

Odd you can buy clean chicken feet but not a whole chicken

Had all the parts but not the whole chicken plenty of turkeys though

So 5 on the dot and just strained everything. Ended sup having to ad some wings but the broth came out decent. Would have been much better is I had two days and was able to crack the bones and let all that flavor come out but not bad...still better then most store bought.

Did take all the skin and meat off the wings and toss them back in for a second boil so that added some to it

You keep that up Wolfie and we will make you cook chicken/dumplings for the next Trapperman feed!

The reason homemade is so good is because it does not have all the extra funk in it (preservatives/chemicals/etc)

I like to buy the cheap leg quarters often under a buck a pound I cut the legs off and save them for drummies done as hot wings because there is so much more meat on them.

thighs are good and fatty and make a terrific soup stock

I am making soup tomorrow picked up 2 trays of leg quarters yesterday

the thighs besides being cheep, dark meat, and fatty enough to make a good rich stock have very few bones to pick out

So all the meat from the wing and breasts added back added some water and salt little bit of pepper and let all the come up to another boil.



Made the dumplings




Added them in a boil let them cool down ,added one secret thing and done 8 something hours later
