No problem Eagleye.

A good herbicide for aquatic sites is Rodeo. It's a broad spectrum killer, so you will smash some desirable plants too. But it is safer for fish and water bugs and such. Like others have said, you don't want phragmites. You definitely don't want purple loosestrife either. Don't let them get a foothold. On a 1/3 acre wetland, they should be manageable with spot shots of a low volume foliar

Here’s an update on the Wetland Restoration project I have going on- timing wasn’t great with the corn in full swing, no one wanted to chop it for silage so down it went. During the permitting and engineering studies the core soil samples were extremely promising and you can see how after less than 1” of overnight rain, it’s filling up nicely. Next step is to seed a filter border edge and top seed oats for a companion crop. The corn is milking and with a 3-acre pile of it - the bears were on it like sharks on blood throughout the day.

I was worried about washout- we got almost 4" of rain in a short window- it's probably 1' below the normal equilibrium point, as of today, it's been holding at a consistent depth from the last runoff.
The wetland perimeter has a seeded border edge of about 30':
Orchard grass
Timothy
Kentucky Bluegrass
Red Clover
Ladino Clover

I overseeded the entire site with Buck Forage Oats and in the spring, I'll plant milo and sorghum with a mix of tree and shrub species on the eyebrow berm- I was surprised it didn't washout- the oats probably didn't provide much erosion protection at that height.

That looks awesome Eagleye. It is amazing how well oats can help stabilize soil even early on.

I wanted to put in a couple scrapes. A local contractor was willing to do the work for free if he got the soil from the scrape. Since I have a waterway somewhat close, I am exploring a little different program.
