- this one has passed, on to the next stepHi all,
We need to send emails of support for HJR2 to members of the House Judiciary Committee.
The committee is planning to consider the bill tomorrow and I've been told by Jim that lawmakers who support the outdoors community, that Humane Society is flooding the committee with contacts against the proposal to add the right to hunt, trap and fish to the Iowa Constitution.
steven.holt@legis.iowa.gov, bill.gustoff@legis.iowa.gov, ross.wilburn@legis.iowa.gov,taylor.collins@legis.iowa.gov, jon.dunwell@legis.iowa.gov, stan.gustafson@legis.iowa.gov, lindsay.james@legis.iowa.gov, megan.jones@legis.iowa.gov, bobby.kaufmann@legis.iowa.gov, brian.lohse@legis.iowa.gov, ann.meyer@legis.iowa.gov, brian.meyer@legis.iowa.gov, carter.nordman@legis.iowa.gov, rick.olson@legis.iowa.gov, sami.scheetz@legis.iowa.gov, megan.srinivas@legis.iowa.gov, henry.stone@legis.iowa.gov, phil.thompson@legis.iowa.gov, charley.thomson@legis.iowa.gov, beth.wessel-kroeschell@legis.iowa.gov, skyler.wheeler@legis.iowa.gov
It's simple to do:
1. Copy all the emails above as I have formatted them to work. Just highlight all of them at once and copy them. 2. Open your e-mail account and start to compose an e-mail. 3. paste all the emails into the "To:" 4. put "please support HJR2" in the subject line. 5. Type a short message like: "Please vote yes on HJR2 tomorrow. Thank you." and SIGN YOUR NAME to it. 6. click "SEND"
It takes about two minutes to email them all.

As the IDNR lobbyist, Todd Coffelt cannot publicly state his support for or against the bill, but has to remain neutral. Just FYI. Then why have a tax paid lobbyist? Either way he can inform the DNR of the sportsmans support. I don't know why it is a rule in this case, just that it is.
