Show us your fur hats and any history on the fur as to where/how harvested.

Custom dark beaver hat handmade from an Ontario, Canada trapper!

[Linked Image]

Muskrat trapper hat from 'rats I caught on Spider Flowage years back in Northern Wisconsin.

[Linked Image]

Female fisher hat from a conibear trap set on a leaning pole with a balsam bough covered beaver carcass as bait.

[Linked Image]

Raccoon hat as every trapper and country boy at heart should have a raccoon hat!

[Linked Image]

Red fox hat harvested from Boulder Junction, Wisconsin area with my 16 gauge shotgun. Spotted him sitting on his haunches on a cold January morning behind my deep woods country home. While wearing only my long johns and slippers, I deftly slipped out the back door and made a quality shot!

Let's see you fur hats!

Chris

Another nice badger hat. I need one of those but being from Wisconsin they are protected. Perhaps I will buy one at a trappers convention.

Me and my buddy Vladimir P snared it at his Trapping Camp a few years back.
(JK) its a beaver and wolf skin hat put together in a technique called leathering I modified by substituting beaver strips for the leather.

This coonskin cap made from a really nice coon I caught mid-winter, except it had that rub in the middle of the back. I figured it would get downgraded at the buyer, but it was otherwise the nicest one I'd ever caught so I had it tanned. Then eventually had a hat made out of it, and had them feature the rub front and center because it was the whole reason I kept it in the first place.

[Linked Image]

This one is made from a red fox caught about 100 yards from where I got the coon in the first pic, with ear flaps made of muskrat caught on the bay of Green Bay. I've since added some turkey spurs to the ear flap strings.

Both hats made by Wild Things Fur in La Farge, WI.
