I am starting to have great results with some BTO that I bottled in2019, after 2 years of rendering. What would a person use to keep it more fluid in northern Mn winters?
Thanks
Jim

What temperature is yours getting solid at? I haven't used my straight BTO at under about 10 degrees, and at that temperature it is kind of a thin gel, about the consistency of honey. I can still squeeze it out of my flip top bottle easily but can't squirt a stream.

If you add glycerin it will seperate into two layers, but you can shake it up before each use.

I have been seeing good reactions from the bobcats. I would like something liquid to 0 f. I was wondering if vodka or everclear would work, so I may have to just give it a try.

Alcohols are water soluble but not oil soluble.

I made some BTO this summer and was a bit surprised this fall when it started to turn Greasy at a moderate temperature.
I do not know the best way to make it more fluid?
I went the other direction with BTO left it the way it is and added it to baits and made a nice musky beaver castor type lure.

FT, I found some old posts where this question about BTO had been discussed.
Mineral Oil, was recommended to be used for a cold weather blend with the BTO. Try a small batch?
