I like it OK. Discovered it in Australia. There is a New Zealand spin off as well. Kind of salty I recall. Good on hot bread.

I tried it in some dirt holes last season. Coyotes and coons both seem attracted to smell.

I got my first exposure to it years ago. A Dingo control trapper from Australia came over for the NTA to do a Demo that year. He got hooked up with me through Tim Caven. He and his stepdad came and stayed with me for a while before heading back home. His name was Tony Townsend. His business is called Tony Townsends "Wild Dog Control".

I took them along for some coyote work I had going on at the time, some nuisance work on a commercial Groundhog job and some residential mole work. Great folks, I had a bit of an interpretation challenge for a while. grin I wasn't sure about what a long neck was or what telling yarns were when having them. Good MATES they were.

They brought some gifts from Queensland for me to enjoy. At first I wasn't sure about the Vegemite. Kind of looked like dark pureed fresh cat poo.. Kind of smelled similar with a musky odor.

I believe it was the 2013 Lima Ohio convention he attended. I believe Marty was there also. Some of you may remember him.

Vegemite is habit forming especially on fresh warm bread. You don't need much to get the flavor. It is some type of yeast product, but it does taste salty. But it kind of grows on you.

Never had it but I've heard from those that have that it's an "acquired" taste, lol. All you want is the thinnest smear on your bread, and you'll either hate it or get a taste for it,...eventually.

Probably best if you're brought up on it... grin

If you like the taste of salty flavored yeast paste, you'll love it.

I've only had vegemite once. I did not like it.

Someone once told me that Nutella was a spread for bread, like vegemite. I got the mistaken idea that Nutella was vegemite based. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally tried it and learned it was chocolate and hazel nut.

You get it from a muscled up, 6'4" fella in Brussels? laugh

Seems like someone once told me they tried it and it was not to their liking.
Never tried it myself

I've heard, if you go to Australia, you will be offered the stuff by dang near everyone. Consensus is, don't bite. It's one of those things they give you so they can laugh at you while you are trying to get the horrible taste out of your mouth.

I had a few butter knife tip smears tonight. Raw stuff. It is an acquired taste. At first I didn't think I would like it. Now it is something I eat regularly. I got a deal on Ebay for a 4 pack a couple months back. Local stores don't carry it.
