Ran to town today to get some ice cleats can’t find my old one could be anyplace or gone in the fire easier to just by a new pair not worth cracking the melon.

The field next to the house has a fresh dig looks to be a big badger. So I took the gravel road back seen dig outs in several fields all fresh dirt on top of the snow.

Set a snare in the hole. That stake sticks up but it can’t be seen easily from the road because it blends in with the mound of dirt.

Big print but that’s some soft snow

Probably won’t be long before that stake will have a huge dirt pile to blend into!

Snared badger in a hole? Is that like snaring a beaver in a bank den?

Just don’t give him an inch of extra cable and you’re good if not it can be a nightmare digging one out.

Nice I always like the destruction a badger does after he is caught.

Well If It gets caught that kill pole should keep It from doing much digging.

For some reason they dig as far as they can away from the stake even in a foot trap they use the free foot but they still dig a mess. I did have one tangle around the stake I’d rather they just keep digging. A lot of times they just get in the hole and sit there you never know.

Like finding those fresh badger holes in the snow. Set two of them yesterday as you taught me several years ago!

My experience as well. Hope you get him!

I have caught a few badgers here In WI all had to be released. Most of them did the massive dig. 2 I remember didn't dig at all. In fact there wasn't even much of a catch circle.
