Supposed to gotten 1-5 inches. Looks closer to a foot.

It sounds like we'll be dealing with a version of that this afternoon.... I don't mind but can we get through this one without talking about the new boogieman later in the week.

All the fear mongering over every snow event is getting really old. It's winter, in Wisconsin. It's going to snow. The world won't end.

I remember as a kid hoping school got canceled when I had my jacket on ready to go... now it's the day before if things look iffy. I appreciate that times have changed and more childcare needs to be considered but also part of our Snowflake culture now.

It doesn't bother me that the weather guys are usually wrong, they've been mostly wrong since forever, But it's the hysterical ,over the top life threatening warnings for an avg storm.

It's winter, it snows, not that much of a surprise...

Here in my little corner of paradise, we were expecting about 5" from late yesterday till about noon. So far, maybe just over 1" and 27°.
I sometimes wonder if maybe the retail industry doesn't pay these tv and radio people to scare the public in to a panic buying frenzy. It's almost fun to watch people panic when we're expecting a few inches of snow.

Yep, dad would turn on the little AM radio by the breakfast table and listen for the closings. More than once mom would come out to the bus stop to tell me to come home cause they'd cancelled school.

Kids don't learn to deal with adversity, they learn to hide from it. And use it as an excuse.

We stay stocked up. Wife is getting cataract surgery today. Jeep will get us there. Not supposed to snow again till tomorrow

They was saying 6 to 10 inches here, I would say we got
the lower end of that.

Missed us this time they said 4-8 we got 1 inch maybe but an inch that drifts can make getting around tough if it blows hard enough. Brother in law has 10 inches just over in IA by Sioux Falls.

School closures today are all about the threat and actuality of lawsuits. You would not believe the phone calls schools get. Parents also forget they can always keep their own children home if they do not feel it is safe. And then unfortunately there is the daycare effect rather than a parent watching their child.

Yep, I get that. Lawyers messing things up again.

Schools are hiring anyone who shows up to drive busses now. At least here. They don't really have a choice. I think it a good idea not to use them in snow or ice. Here though it doesn't take much to shut them down. I have thought about doing it. I don't have the patience though to deal with the unruliness so many parents allow now.

It's time to get my plow truck ready!

I talk about that all the time I wouldn't have kids if they had to be raised by the daycare system or school system I'll make sure my kids are raised by there parents I feel bad for the parents that by the time there kid gets home from school they do there after school activity sports band whatever ever it is does there homework gets washed up an eat there lucky to get 2 good hours a day with there child ..it's pretty clear why these kids are Turing out the way they are an I get it in today's world its pretty much forced

It is life threatening in the open plains when snow and high winds combine.

It's been a while since we got big snow here, we got 13" Sat./Sunday. I love my snow blower.
