Pictured is a Duke 550 that I slightly uncovered the dog so you could see the Coyotes proximity to the pan. Again this a Duke 550 . Trap bedded primarily in wax dirt with some pest moss in jaws and source dirt cover . It was approximately 15 degrees last night.

Only works if they step on the pan, lol.

My son was badmouthing my set and trap one day saying it didn’t fire. I gently uncovered the pan away from the paw print and he was 1/4” from hitting the pan. I told my son if he truly thought it was the trap to stick his finger in it…he declined. They can step all over the jaw and it “shouldn’t” fire. It ain’t a hand grenade down there.
4 checks later, that trap had a coyote waiting for him.

No track where I uncovered….hopefully it will be back.

I cleaned up the set and bedded good in wax dirt after firing the trap off to test it ….and added a few dirt clods for guiding. Hopefully it will

I’ll give you advice given to me…make a set and leave it alone until you catch or it’s time to pull sets.

Yes! Honestly, wish I had not even fired it off, but once I did ….had to reset. Figured it was a dumb move too….
