Scott -
You sure they're fleas? I've played with my share of beavers over the years (several hundred) and I've never seen a flea on one. As SniperBBB suggested, they may be beaver beetles. If so, they'll depart in time. If they are fleas, I've never had any luck with Raid. Spray a small hand towel with starter fluid and put the towel and the beaver in a box or a contractors plastic bag. Wait a couple hours. They'll be dead.

Thank you guys. I’m not sure what they are. They are little brownish looking bugs all over its back. Like I said I’m not sure what they are but they need to go. only thing they can do to you is give you the heebie jeebies.. They can only feed off beaver.

The duo toenails on the beaver's "ring finger" are to help groom and oil the fur.
BTW, there is a small market for those beetles. Put them in alcohol and sell them for $1 each.

Platypsyllus castoris
the toe nails are such that the beaver tries to groom them off, if you look you will see a second claw on some toe nails Someone had a laugh when they came up with the scientific name

Had ticks on them too. Black trash bag with spray. You sure they're beaver? Joking but I've never seen fleas or ticks on any beaver I've caught.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

I spray the beaver with flying bug spray and comb in once. Then put them in front of my fan to dry. Next day they are dry and bugs are dead. I've done this at least a hundred times and it always works. If you feel one crawling in your beard or hair they usually only last an hour or two and then gone from my experience. Like TurkeyWrangler said it will feel like a dozen.

Those little bugs can be dangerous...I almost drove off the road one time when one crawled up a nostril.
