Had 49* here today. Sunny n calm. Flys were out.
Snows about gone and 7 day forecast shows highs in the 40s. Unreal. This time last year, deer were dieing of starvation.

Never have seen dealing with mud last day of January.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Canada is the land form or land mass that is warming the fast in recent years, so it makes sense to me that those areas along the northern USA bordering Candada may be warming also. It is also noted that most of the warming is coming from warmer winters just as many are noting.

A warm winter isn't good for us. I am afraid the entire area will be on fire by August. We are so far behind on snow I don't think we can catch up. I find 4 or 5 stink bugs in the house every day, we usually only see them in the fall.

Last year here was a total opposite, we had walkable ice in Nov. all the way through to May. Every year is different, but we need a couple feet of snow or some good spring rains or the rest of my rat sloughs are going to dry up.

Time to break out the 4 wheeler to keep from wrecking the roads and pastures that are going soft quickly with the water sitting in the ruts and in the fields it’s a mess getting around. I walk a lot of my cat line but muds not much easier for getting around than snow and the creeks can get wild and the banks been sliding onto my trail.

It gets your attention when the trail you walk on has huge pieces of dirt dropped right where you walked days before and as you pass by quickly the loose dirt starts to trickle down at you. Sadly my first thought is I could wax that dirt but I’m not hanging out here anytime soon.

It is a bitter/sweet winter so far. We do need snowpack and snow yet before the season change. A good and bad thing for us in the west for sure.

This year's December-January temps are ranked the third highest ever recorded according to our local weatherman. The highest ever recorded for December-January occurred 1877- 1878.

Remember as a kid we played army and you gave up the fort so the other side got it? Of course you don't. Little kids aren't that stupid.
