So. After sleeping on it. Having a good meal at lunch. Taking to day off. Answering NO landowner phone calls. Have decided. To start looking for 2 or 3 large CATTLE Ranch jobs. Will talk to some cattle folks soon.

Word may get around to any other perspective trappers that this place isn't a good place to work. I certainly would make it known in the ranks in a subtle way as to what has happened in your case. Maybe it will make a difference, maybe not.

Bob. I joking now. But. You are correct. WE allowed this to happen. We would joke about it being the 27 th of the month. And him getting on his little airplane and going to Mexico. We joked about = it’s the end of the month he want answer the phone. With afew ranches running at once. I didn’t need the money = right on the 27 th every time. We would scold and poke fun at him. He would do little better the next month. We would REALLY get on him. He would pay on time. Then belate next 4 times. And on and on. It’s just time to stop. Word is out. Government doesn Want him back in program. Kind of person who = blows up your phone with 5 missed calls 4 text messages and 2 voicemails in a day. But on pay day. His phone goes straight to voicemail! LOL!! Lesson learned. Leaving

Sometimes we all need a little tough love to get back on track. It happens, and I know you will get it straightened out. Don't let it get to you. It happens to all of us in life at some point or another. I have had my share of the kind of folks you have described. I have walked a couple times in my ADC career. Glad I did once I looked back at what I tolerated.

Have you found the coyotes in Texas harder to catch than the ones in Alabama? I know the states have a difference in climate and soil conditions. Some of the coyotes in the North Alabama area are smart.:) I may be trapping right on the Mississippi and Alabama state line this fall. Did you use flat sets more than dirt holes in Alabama?

Muscat. I set Flat Sets about 95 % of time in Alabama. The only time O used dirt hole was on males. And to round up pups in July and August in Alabama. Trapped same places. 3 times a year. For almost 10 years. Biggest problem. Was Coyotes missing toes. Lots of guys trapping around me. Dirt Hole was a uselessly set most of time. Coyotes in West Texas sheep are smart. Coyotes in South Texas high fence were pretty dumb. These I caught today are not supper smart. But Central/West Texas sheep ??? They are smart as anything I have ever seen

Got 3 coyotes today so far. Got bout 9 more sets to run. Should be back by 4 pm or so

Hay ST question, see your using alot of saber tooth and similar drags, how far are they getting in average out there ? And is it mainly brush hook ups or dirt hook ups

Wolfdog91. Today. Out of 3 coyotes. 30 yards was the farthest. The worst has been bout 200 yards. Just got lucky. Missed every bush. Lots of = grease wood here. So EVERY trail is a little different ! I know 2 USDA government trappers that use = Saber Tooth drags. The other drags are = LPC 1 piece drags With 1/2 flat bar welded on top of them . VERY good drag but not cheap. Will post you up afew pics of them. In the morning
