Been using only food lure at some sets. And only castor at others this season. Seasons before i would either use both. Or just castor. I've noticed my food lure is outperforming castor by 3 to 1. Even this time of year. I always mainly set up with castor and it did a good job for me. But perhaps I had it all wrong. Anyone else do better with one or the other?

I use more food lures on public ground beaver or beaver I think have been messed with before. Whether it works better than castor, I cant really tell. But it makes me feel better and I still catch my beaver.

I seldom use castor based lures anymore on beaver that I think could have been trapped before. I'll use sac oil if I want to stir up a territorial response, but the vast majority of the time I'm just using food lures with popple as bait. It's worked out extremely well.
