I grew up in western NY and all the stores there sold butter lambs at Easter time. A butter lamb is just what you might assume it is, a lamb made of butter. They always had red ribbons around their necks, and a red flag stuck in their rump that said Alleluia on it. Since leaving that area, I've never seen a butter lamb for sale anywhere but it just doesn't seem like Easter without them, so I've started making my own. Here is this Easter's.... ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2024/03/full-20923-213791-butterlamb.jpg)

I thought everyone had them. Just got back from mom and Dads. Butter lamb was one of the things I brought for the Easter table. The box they come in is also iconic along with the red ribbon and flag. . Yours looks great. Did you save the Alleluia flag from and old one? They sell all sizes of them here. As Paul Heppner stated the Broadway market is the place to get all your Easter food Especially butter lambs, sausages and horseradish. Periogi's are also a big seller every where in. WNY. Especially with Dingus day tomorrow Tops markets are a big seller of the butter lambs here. I'm glad you still enjoy a little bit of WNY since your move to MS.

Yes I still have family in WNY and I had my mom send me a few flags and ribbons years ago. I've since lost the ribbons but still have a couple flags. I'll have to hit my grandmother up tomorrow to send me her flags and ribbons from this year to replenish my stock. I just used Christmas ribbon this year.

My Grandma used to do the lamb butter for Easter
we were totally non traditional this year
my parents are in FL , my brother and his family were in FL visiting my parents and my Daughter in Milwaukee worked late Saturday at their part time job at a pizza shop in addition to their going to college and student teaching. student teaching doesn't' pay anything.
so we went to MKE and had lunch at their tiny apartment then went bowling because there was a bowling alley open a block away. it was a multi cultural experience, well it was still just bowling. I will give you a hint where do non Christians go on Easter Sunday when almost nothing is open. so there you have it Bowling the great melting pot of multi culturalism.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Top weird thing for Easter… Sacrificial butter…..sick (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman)! My grandmother and mother always had them for Easter. Don’t know what’s so weird about it ? What could be weirder than the Easter Bunny ?
