March CPI hotter than projected.
Looks like no interest rate cuts anytime soon. More likely an increase

I don't know where they come up with their inflation numbers, but they haven't been in my grocery stores or gas stations in the last month, let alone the last year. Inflation is up nearly 10 percent based on the money flowing out of my wallet.

Inflation is up nearly 10 percent based on the money flowing out of my wallet. Don't be silly, they adjusted the index formula so it no longer includes groceries, etc. And if you pay attention, rosy news is released, then a month or two.later, " revised" to be less rosy.

Anyone that does any purchases really think inflation is ONLY 3.5 ? Oh yes take out gas and food prices. It would be 40% cumulative since Biden took over I was guessing high 30's, but your right and it has been catastrophic and covered up to the point of absurdity.

Interest rates don't need to come down, they were at zero for a decade and everyone thinks that's normal, it isn't. U/E numbers are always 'unexpected' same as this crap, maybe economist don't have a clue what's going on, what went on or what is going to go on? lol. Only profession ive seen where they are ALWAYS wrong but keep a job. I bet next quarter's number's will be 'unexpected' as well.

You'll never see where I said interest rates are too high.

If interest rates go up hopefully it slows these soaring real estate prices. Rent to the state is getting out of hand. Combined with utility and grocery increases something has to give or we will be in another depression. With all the social programs people still earning will lose most of it to taxes. The rest gone from inflation. Who stands to gain from that?
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

There has never been as many rich people as there are now. Do you think all those filthy rich people care about anything like gas or food going up in pricea few hundred dollars? Be like us worrying about something going up a penny, lol.

Gov needs to give away more money ! Wheelbarrows full. Need to give away more rebates for elec cars, solar projects and wind turbines ! Maybe a $5,000 stimulus check for every man, woman, child and even pets. We need to spend billions on our foreign friends and even more for buying off our enemies.
That ought to get inflation to where your paper money is worthless and we will be ready to switch over to electric funny money. 666

Don't worry. The white house is on top of things.
JORDAN FABIAN, BLOOMBERG: Thank you, Mr. President. Last month, you predicted the Federal Reserve would cut interest rates, thanks to falling inflation. But today, data showed that inflation rose more than expected, for the third straight month. So how concerned are you about the fight against inflation stalling? And do you stand by your prediction for a rate cut?
PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Well, I do stand by my prediction, that before the year is out, there will be a rate cut. This may delay it a month or so. I'm not sure that. I don't -- We don't know what the Fed is going to do, for certain. But look, we have dramatically reduced inflation, from 9 percent down to -- close to 3 percent. We're in a situation, where we're better situation than we were when we took office, where we -- inflation was skyrocketing.
And we have a plan to deal with it, whereas the opposition, my opposition talks about two things. They just want to cut taxes for the wealthy and raise taxes on other people. And so I think they have no plan. Our plan is one I think is still sustainable.

Fuel and grocery prices are not included in determining "The Inflation Rate." Never has been as far as I know. My interpretation of that reason behind that is due the volatility of those two sectors, particularly fuel prices. If an oil platform catches on fire, the price of oil skyrockets, but comes back down after a relatively short time. Including fuel price in the inflation rate would make a huge mess of the whole process. Besides that, the increase in fuel prices will have a direct effect on cost of items which are in the inflation mix. So, in affect, fuel price is baked into the inflation rate indirectly. Slick Willy Clinton stopped including gas food and used cars in the inflation calculator in 1995. His claim was getting inflation under control
