I don't see how keeping people from work, medical appointments and overall stopping commerce will bring people to their cause. I think that these kinds of traffic disturbances are a form of domestic terrorism and should be prosecuted under those statutes. Tear gas and water cannons, maybe filled with Caven's Gusto, have their uses.

They are not trying to bring people to their side. It is a show of force and intimidation. It's also a punishment, with the threat that it will get much worse if we don't concede to their demands.

You bet they will move...Father was driving a rig in the Detroit riots in 1967 and did that very thing.

A car load pursued him & they got ran in a ditch.

A lot of protesters put stop sticks down when stopping traffic now. They are using real police grade stop sticks, not homemade ones. Stop sticks aren't cheap, most range $400.00 to $1200.00 each. The protesters have wealthy sponsors.

Always figured I'm not stopping, that puts you in a place with people that don't like you stopped, seated and confined. I would rather deal with running them over vs the threat to my safety. Not getting stuck in traffic because of them leaves few options.

That, and unofficial speed bumps don't legally require
that you have to slow down for them !!!!

kept terrorists & other bad actors away from critical infrastructure
like ports, railroads, bridges, tunnels, etc.

Folks that wish to peacefully protest on a street corner and hold signs are just fine with me. But the moment that they start causing traffic jams and mayhem I start to see red!

Don't ya ever wonder why so many people from the cities are moving to the country? The blm protest drove hundreds of people to build in my quiet country area

I don't live in a city and a few years ago, I still got stuck in two black lives matter traffic jams, one on I71 and one on I70, where a bunch of people with blm signs just slowly drove abreast, blocking even the shoulders, with frequent stops. In both cases, the Ohio State Highway Patrol eventually got ahead of them with enough vehicles to pull all the blm protesters over.

Both times I lost over 90 minutes of my time. Many of the protests block people for much longer.

JMHO Those that scream " DEATH TO AMERICA!" are a threat to my well being.
Isn't that enough grounds to stand your ground?
Everyone of them should be deported , or if citizens , tried for treason.
CAPITAL PUNISHMENT !

I NEVER intend to cause any bodily harm to anyone, but if I had some place to be to get a loved one or, even someone I didn't even know, to medical help, I'd plow through that mess in a heartbeat.
