Has anyone tried FG rebar? We are currently using Hag's rods. In most situations, 8' is enough. However, 10' rods sure would be handy in some situations or at the very least get the bottom of the stake a little further in the mud. We've had a couple waiting for us on the bank and one that actually took the whole setup. He pulled the base of the stake out and somehow got up the high bank above the water line. Then he had leverage on the T stake and pulled it out. There was a catch circle up on the bank. Looked like worked at it for quite some time. Anyway, My partner had the idea of using FG rebar yesterday to get a little more reach and or get it further in the mud. I think it will work. What do you think?

Lowes has 10' FG (pink colored), if you are looking for ten footers.

The fiberglass rebar I’ve seen doesn’t have the finish or UV protection that you want (need). Fiberglass slivers in the hands will make you miserable.

Agreed. FG splinters are not fun. Never actually held a pc of FG rebar before. The stuff I've seen was green so I'm not sure what kind of coating it had. IMO It's worth exploring as a option.

What I saw at Lowe's was pink. It already looks like it wants to throw splinters out. Maybe if you painted them. And they're not smooth like the rods. I decided against them

I used the pink ones along with some white fencing fiberglass rods and both worked great. The pink ones do throw slivers so wear gloves.

Ok. Thanks for your input. I HATE FG splinters so those are out. 3 Questions. Are you using Hags ends on the fencing rods? How long are they? and where to do you get them?

I actually make ends for my trap supply guy in my state.he got the rods out of PA i believe but if i remember correctly i think they are used in fencing for cattle. I have seen the hagz ends and i didn't like how they were not a tight press fit to the rods. But i lnowany use them. I use 10 foot rods everywhere. The rebar ones i have are 10 foot also.
