If you wonder if you should buy more traps, that means that you should. If you think you have too many, you might have enough.

There are some members of a certain gender that feel it is their duty to tell teir spouse that hey have too many guns ,traps, knives, fishing rods ,etc But when asking those same people why they have more than one pair of shoes since they only have 2 feet they have no response So itcomes down to the correct answer to your question of how many traps to own just depends on your point of view

Always buy traps when there cheap... or if needed, I didn't go to auction yesterday but there was a fully box of foothold FOR $6 just hearing that made me mad...

If you have spent the time and resources on a fur shed and have quite a bit of gear, then to me investing in some more traps would make sense to me. How many and what type is something most of us can not answer for you.
I had quite a few traps before I had a better place to skin, dry and store my traps and gear. Your way ahead of me in that aspect.
