And I'm wondering how long my face will be irritated. Slapped on a new blade knocked the beard off with clippers then shaved. Where a goat t go t or how ever its spelled would be is red as its been slapped. Never had that happen before. Figured I would have a few weeks of ingrown hairs and such type irritation but have never had anything like this.

I don't use and or have any after shave so slapped on some 91% alcohol.

Any bets to how long the irritation last. I'm thinking 5 days

I was going to leave it around my mouth and chin then decided to take that off to. Apparently I changed the angle of the clippers and got bad results

Goatee...I'm putting money on the 91% alcohol being the cause of your redness.

I've had a beard nearly all my life. My youngest daughter had never seen me without a beard. When she was about 3 years old, I decided to cut off my beard. I was in the bathroom and had just finished cutting it off. My daughter walked by and saw me without the beard. Her eyes got wide and she ran to her mother screaming. She was afraid of me for a couple days after that. My wife suggested I grow it back which I have done after being beardless for one day. That was 40+ years ago. Had a beard ever since.

I put the alcohol on after I noticed the redness to help clean the micro abrasions

Don't know what kind of blade you use but there are some shaving sites that focus on double edge safety razors and blades. They do have some pointers on skin care.

Thatll be gone tomorrow.
I shave and get a haircur once a year whether I need it or not.
I like having the beard in winter out on the land, keeps the face warm

Been 36 years since I've seen my bare face.

I do think the alcohol irritates your skin after shaving. I've done it on my neck and where my beard grows up to my eyeball. If I use anything with alcohol on it my skin turns red just like yours. Then goes away the next day after a good shower

the only reason I can think of to shave is if I need stitches , and that should come with lidocaine

26 years ,the day I met my wife was the last time I shaved

maybe some aloe on that burn would be better.

I feel your pain, or likely would, if I shaved first time since fall of '72! laugh

Your first mistake was using Fells Naptha® as a shaving soap

Last time I removed my beard it was just over 5 years ago before mom went in to get her breast removed due to cancer. She doesn't like the beard so I figured I would make her happy before surgery. It only stayed like that maybe a month.

I trimmed it up a few months back it went down to my sternum I trimmed it down to a half inch. Later down to 3/8 . It's been getting itchy and having dandruff also turned almost all white. Figured why not shave it off I look 10 years or more younger.

Kissed my wife and she said not bad nice and smooth for a change. I told her don't get used to it she sain I know in 15 minutes it will be spikey aging. Don't know how long it will stay clean shaved but I'm guessing at least a month.

I can’t imagine kissing a man with a full beardy face, that being said I don’t mind when Chuckie has some scruff on his face….which he usually does. Doesn’t bother me at all. It’s been so long since he’s been totally clean shaven that I forget what he looks like.

You might have to amputate from the neck up

It will cure the redness

Boco was correct it looked fine this morning. Until I shaved and instantly repeat. Only irritated around mouth and chin. Probably give it 2 or 3 days before I shave again..

The cause might be residual bacteria that thrives in facial hair. You need antibiotics.

My mommie never taught me much, but between her and my contemporaries, I had shaving figured out by mid adolescence. For you, my suggestion is if you don't yet have a handle on it ,just don't shave.

Ya, but then I have all the jealous men that can't grow a beard drooling over my epic beard. It's a lot to deal with all the envy.

Still a myth. But as I suggested, that sounds like the the way to go.

Ya t Rex. They seem to quit making my old faithful 2 blade razor blads and have all this 5 blade crap out now. The heads are to thick and 5 blades are unnecessary.

Guess I'm going to have to go back to a strait razor. At least then it's a really close and smooth shave.
