Not using the advantages of the metric system is st...
The longer the US wait to adopt it, the higher the expenditure.
It's better to make a painful break than draw out the agony.
For the elderly who are not willing to change, it will still be some decades of transformation. They likely can keep using imperial for the rest of their lives.
And don't forget imperial meassures are a relic of the British Empire. Even the Brits themselves have moved on and startet to switch to metric in 1973.

I doubt the US will officially change to the metric system. My teachers in high-school were telling me the change was imminent back in the 70's already.

I personally believe the imperial system is superior.

As a carpenter I love working with fractions and math comes easy to me. I can and do use the metric system when I have to but I don't like it.

Eh...wot?

And besides who wants to be like the rest of the world? They used to want to be like us.

the British are also disarmed. Can't even have a pocket knife on them so not a country I want to emulate.

I use a 7/16 instead of a 13 mm because I love freedom! Pee on man buns, mom jeans, and the metric system.

(This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) Fargen No !!! mad

The globalist tried that crap back in the early 1970's
just after I had finally learned the British Imperial system
of weights & measurements in elementary school !!! mad

Myself, and my fellow American Citizens soundly rejected
that NATO metric system B.S.in favor of our traditional
White Anglo-Saxon Protestant heritage & culture.

Let BOCO & his fellow Canadian Numb-Skulls embrace that B.S. !!!

Nothing says Merica quite like beating a standard socket onto a metric bolt to make it fit! grin

Try to find a sourdough recipe in English. It's all grams. It used to be all volume (cups) now to weight (grams). More accurate, yeah but who needs it? Maybe I need to find a scale online.

There are 2 types of countries in the world...

Those that use the metric system, and those that have walked on the moon.

If the rest of the world is for it, I have no choice but to be against it.

I guess I'm odd-man out. In my opinion, metric is much simpler and useful.

Fun fact......entire base 10 metric system of volume, weights and measures is based on the distance between equator and north pole. 10,000,000 meters. Then 100 centimeters in a meter. 1 gram is weight of 1 cubic centimeter of water. 1 milliliter volume is also 1 cubic centimeter. Seems arbitrary, but that was the origin of it.

Origin of most of our US weights and measures falling down funny when you find out what they were.
