Corn hasn't been that green here in a month.
Beans have been mostly cut in my area. Starting on the corn pretty heavy.

Been going in corn and beans here things looked good early now that we’ve been in it stuff isn’t doing as good, beans are running around 40 to 50 and the 95 to 105 corn is at about 160 on a hole field average, there’s a lot of bear spots in the field because of the wetness earlier.

.4 inches of rain around me since August 28th. Too early to tell how poor yields will be and the wide variation from within the same field. Lot of corn dried prematurely and the big farmers are buying up a lot of the late planted corn that is still green and mixing it with the dry stuff to get moisture to ferment and pack. Lot of low quality 1st and 2nd cutting haylage and now real variable corn silage quality will make next years ration formulations a real challenge.I walked in a bean field that I walk past every day. Nice tall vines and lots of pods. Field looked outstanding in mid August. With no rain lot of two and three beans in a pod and many are very small. Yields will be impacted by that as well.
Where corn silage is off those injecting liquid manure in those fields are finding it a slow go as the ground is solid like a rock. More are surface applying and working in right after as this is softening up the ground just a little.

Corn is pretty much done here in my area. Good thing too because the elevators are full and not taking any more. Most fields averaged between 210-280. Started on beans this week. Corn dried down early this year except the fields with fungicide on them. Beans are just starting to get dry enough. Elevators will probably run out of room for them too. The wait line for dumping corn around here was up to 3 hours cause surrounding counties had run out of room too. Made for a slow harvest. Getting started on my pecan harvest this week. Only about half a crop this year because of the off year. Did 3 tons last year and probably half that this year.

Looks like a hill I have seen in WA.

Got 80 acres to go and corn will be a wrap. Been running 175 at about 18% , some better some worse. This last farm will go above 200 it’s good ground . Beans are turning fast there won’t be a break in between this year. Blow her off switch heads and make more dust
