Trapper7, I am using just the meat of the peanut, not the shell. I have had to split almonds also, if they are too big.

I add PB until the trap won't stay set, then take just enough off to get the trap to stay set when I place it.

Many of the mice I catch are little, tan buggers. Not the bigger grey ones.

Are your traps Victors? I tried using just a peanut without the shell and can't keep the trap set as it adds too much weight wired to the pan. That's why I was just using PB.

Dear Santa, All I want is a fat bank account and a skinny body. Please don't mix it up like you did last year!

Yep, victor yellow pans.

I have a rat trap set inside a weasel box with a whole peanut in the shell set for chipmunks. I had a vole in it this morning. The yellow pan has a sensitive setting on it and will take anything that touches the pan.

I would try to use cashews, but I am sure that I would eat all my bait before I got the traps set. Thats what happened when I tried to use marshmallows for coon.
