So bit of a rant I guess but having a bit of a hard time understanding something.

So I'm on a few forums for different hobbies, and I tend to post a lot of my projects and tend to try and document then pretty well with pictures. One , I used to love reading those type of deals when I was a kid coming up on the forums, lot of that stuff really inspired me , don't see very many of them anymore for some reason so instead of complaining to much i try to ,you know post what I'd like to see . Two it honestly just makes stuff easier as far as getting advice or showing what I'm doing, picture worth a thousand words and all that ( and it makes for a pretty nice lil journal type deal incan go look back on which i do frequently). And three , well I just find it fun to share my lil adventures on these projects.

Well recently I got a message on one of these forums and was basically told a good my people dont like me on there due to my posts. Well I asked why and apparently a lot of my posts with all the pictures and updates are considered bragging or something. Asked them if they could explain further they just said posting the type of threads I do with all the pictures and video responses is looked down on by alot of older people mainly because of the fact I post so many pictures and video. I'm thinking maybe it because of the way I respond or similar but no too many pictures and video apparently.Said they enjoyed y posts but many don't.

So idk I'm just having a hard time understanding that logic.Mabye it's a age gap thing? I'm 26 and most places in one I'm the youngest frequent poster by a good 30 years most times. So mabye...idk I just don't get how me posting my projects with a lot of pictures and updates would be considered bragging or rude . I honestly try not to be and I try pretty hard to make it u stood I'm not an expert or anything so....idk.. try to make them "hay I trying this come watch if you want lets see what happens and maybe you can help with some advice". Mabye someone can help me understand, because on alot of these places I'll these folks lamenting about the younger generations not having interest in these hobbies , so heck I figured lotta my stuff would be idk enjoyable . I know I've made some people rather upset because I just don't lock step and do exactly what they said do for whatever reason ( like use x powder that I can never find or y process that's way past what I want to do or can afford or go tho this that's the polar opposite of what I'm trying to do). But other then that ... Why pictures bad ? To me it's just proof, or a better illustration. Makes things more enjoyable

Anyway rant over I guess. Btw sorry if this sounds like a pity post or something I'm not trying. To make it like that I'm just frustrated

A lot of people tend to like people and their success as long as they dont think they are more successful than them. Basically people get jealous. I mean your 26 newlywed moving up in a good career and still find time to tinker, post online
and enjoy life and do it with a positive attitude. It probably reminds them of their short commings in life.

Shouldn't be an issue now but us older guys remember when pics and video absolutely ruined a thread due to bandwidth. That rotating ring of death thing.

Don't worry about the petty people, who do and share nothing of importance. Their opinions of you don't matter because they don't matter.

People frequently dislike people who are better than them, because they know they are inferior. They would be better off trying to improve themselves, but that requires effort.

Pictures make posts more lively and interesting! Especially for those of us with short attention spans! I love your posts Wolfdog, even tho I don’t understand all the fancy gun ones. I really like what you’re cooking on the ship and the ship itself and all it’s goings on.

sort of , you started with very little and you and I both think like people on a tight budget even if we have a bit of economic security now.

Yeah maybe, idk. I'm a 26yr goober just tinkering with stuff... Not trying to set the world on fire or be the best top whatever .
I just find it odd as all get out of be jealous of that. Especially with your 30 something years plus my senior?.... I mean I do seem to have someone on each forum and group that just HAS to come on my posts and say something slick and in just the right way to get under my skin .
Know I have one guy in one of these casting groups who told me I couldn't do some stuff. Well I did it , now he's upping the bar to well your only doing it this much instead of THIS MUCH....like dude....a month ago you where saying it wasn't even possible

No I did have someone tell me that they where doing. This stuff trying to motivate me to do better. That's how they where taught and what made them want to do more....and I mean yeah, I guess in a odd way but....idk

I may be the odd man out but I have no desire to "Keep up with the Jones". I retired early and my favorite line was "I see no reason to work a job I dislike, to afford things I don't need to impress people I don't like".

Yeeeepppp. Don't get me wrong. I'll do some little stuff to flexand honestly that usually just out of good nature fun, but a majority of what I do I'm just kinda doing it anyway .
