There's basically only one support that will work in any ground that you can drive a stake in and that's a wood stake. I haven't found spot #1 that they don't work. First runner up is the h-tyle supports.

Supports I like. You you buy a school with a welding class they can know them out pretty quick for you especially if you bend everything. Just 1
1/4 rod and 9# and a big nail on one. The nail one of for stuff like baked red clay the other is general use. The big staple deal keeps it from spinning plus works as a step in.

You do not need to go to some class to use them.

Easy to vote your way into socialism, but impossible to vote your way out of it.

I totally disagree. Rebar is better than wood for supports and here's why,,, you can drive it into frozen ground, it doesn't get splintered from driving or chewed on after a catch. It lasts forever and never rots. Less to carry/remember, (stake snare & hammer all you need). It also anchors your snares if you choose to go that route. Your support wire doesn't get lost in the catch circle. Those h type supports get bent all up too. Rebar is cheaper in the long run as well. The only support system that works as well are kill poles or support wires off trees and fences, which are not legal in states requiring CR's as you know.

rebar will spin in soft ground without a spade/washer added and you only need a few inches of a wood stake it in the ground.to be solid. you can attach snares to wood stakes as well. Used a ton of em (bernies setup) back when it paid to snare coon.
