I lost my stainless pins. Anyone use an Amazon version do push pins for boards with good success?
I know that stainless is needed. Any suggestions?

Don’t have to be stainless. Won’t rust got plenty of grease

I’ve been using these for decades. The only problem I’ve encountered is that the heads come off of them sometimes.

I like the longer version. It ain’t much maybe a quarter inch. What I’m getting at if they give you a choice, pick the longer ones.

I bought some cheap oversized plastic ones off Amazon. They’re easier on the hands too.

When fur was worth something I was going through 100+ a year popping the heads off the aluminum pieces of junk!

They sure don’t make em like they used to.

I have both the longer and shorter aluminum head pins. I like the longer ones myself just because I think their easier to handled with fat fingers or gloves. When I have a lot of coon to do I use a stapler with a 1/8 inch stand off taped to the bottom. Way faster for me than using pins.

The longer aluminum ones are not as sharp as the shorter ones. Short ones not good on long fur. Both come apart. Aggravating.

Kind of !like the Nitriil gloves all the trapping warehouses sell. Junk.compared to the ones that Harbor Freight sells. And I am not a.fan of Harbor Freight stuff for the.most part.

I have that problem also, but I save them until I have enough to make it worth while to whip up a batch of 2 part epoxy and glue them back together. They work and don't come apart after they are glued
I've also found that if I use 45 degree angle needle nose plyers and pull the shaft not the head that last much longer also.

I usually just stick the shaft back in the head, then smash the head with a hammer. It works for a couple of uses after that.

If you want to fix your aluminum push pins when the heads come off,instead of tossing them,take a small chisel and hit the nail where it goes into the head a couple times,it creates a couple of "bumps" then put the nail in the vise and whack the aluminum head back on with a tack hammer then pinch the head a bit in the middle.
The old aluminum push pins had hardened nails the new ones are soft and are junk-they bend-probably chinese junk.
