Per Yahoo News: A teacher in California found a Bat on the floor of her classroom and picked it up to release outside. 4 days after she felt sick, she was dead form Rabies.

Rabies in California schools could devastate their furry students, who routinely bite each other and other students. I'm only half joking. Liberals are really weird. Once they found out conservatives were offended by fake furries in school, liberals rushed to become real furries in schools.

Who actually read the article? She didn't die 4 days after falling sick. She went to the hospital a month after being bit and they placed her in a coma (a new treatment for rabies) and she died 4 days later.

It is unfortunate but it is on her, and potentially the school administration. She incurred an injury that should have (and may have) been reported and it was from an animal known to be a common rabies carrier. This was totally preventable.

But not 4 days after being bit.

Rabies testing is free here in Wyoming and the lab is right here in town. Had a dead bat tested when we found it in the backyard with the cat.
Results were fast and thankfully negative.

Bats are disease ridden vermin. Seems like once a year there is some kind of media campaign to tell people how good bats are. I don’t get it.

They are good to have around.But people need to use common sense.Trouble is alot of people have no common sense.

I don’t know what good they do. They eat far more moths than mosquitoes. Spread disease, destroy property. I would say the bad out ways the good, but I can’t find any good. lol

I posted this a while back on the ADC Forum. I heard she removed the bat and died a month later, might have felt sick for four days though.

They make for dang funny stories when they get in someone's house.

Nearly all bats have rabies as carriers due to their communal nature.

Weird, I got a call from the health nurse to remind me of my Tuesday 09:00 appointment for my 3rd and final rabies shot. It’s free here for trappers and others that may be in close contact with an infected animal.
On a side note, another Lyme vaccine may be coming out again.
