I recently got access to a friend's restaurant grease trap. It is full of grease from various meats, etc. It smelled like a great idea for baiting skunk traps and raccoon traps. Any ideas?

Makes excellent trailing lure. Put it in a squeeze bottle and squirter some in a line to your trap.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

I’m sure it’d work great, but if you really want to catch them with bait, there are lots of less greasy, dirty things you could use. Some that you’ll even eat what’s left over, lol.

It’s one think to use that stuff if you have a hard to catch animal, but to start off with something that’s going to cause a mess?

That was one of my thoughts; if bring the traps back in, they'll have to be cleaned out eat time to reduce the smell etc. "The juice may not be worth the squeeze" in this case.

FWIW2U: I use the sludge from the bottom of my VFW Post' fish fryers in my DP's, works great.

I normally supply the crappie for the community fish fry in the spring. I'll grab some "sludge" from the bottom of the pot this year. Captial idea

AND, You can add a dollop to the hounds feed ration and they'll love you forever!
