Being new to collecting I have really enjoyed the knowledge shared reading through over 70 pages of past threads. Thought I would share a recent addition to the collection that holds a double meaning for me; working as a wildlife Biologist for the state of Michigan and collecting Michigan conservation department items and focusing my trap collecting on Newhouse I was excited to add this to our collection.

Appreciate all you folks!

Tim

What you have there is a "transition" trap with Prop of Michigan stamp.
It should have an Animal Trap Co Lititz Pa stamped pan with single word "Oneida" across the top (under Newhouse).
Although assembled at ATC plant after 1925, it has an OC chain and the cross is OC riveted (not spot welded).
ATC briefly used the word "Oneida" to promote the ATC traps as old trappers trusted the name. As part of purchase agreement with OC, ATC agreed to use up OC parts inventories first.

Thus a transition trap between OC and ATC. I have several of those with Michigan stamp and discovered that the state bought numbers during that time period...I assume for beaver control as most have drowning rigs.

Good trap.
