So I have a new guy learing the ropes about trapping in general but he's taken a keen interest in bobcats. We don't have a lot in this area but enough to try for them. He asked if a person built a cubbie with both ends open, would a cat seem more likely to enter? Mind you the few cats that I have caught have all been in footholds.

Give them one way in, to step on the trap.

I do believe you'll get less refusals with both ends open. Culvert sets out west work really well.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I guess I need to point out with this guys work schedule, he uses body grip traps. He thought he could build a box out of wood or wire mesh and put a BG on both ends and cover the cubbies with brush.

Look in the archives. I think there's a thread in there about bobcat boxes.
