Hydaburg is a Native village on the southwest side of Prince of Wales island. Lots of very proud Haidas that don’t take kindly to outsiders.
I have a cabin down in that neck of the woods. I’ve been stolen from a number of times and at one point I had pictures and names of the people that stole from me, serial numbers from my washing machine that they were selling on FB… you would think it was a cut and dry case but the troopers refused to investigate due to tribal politics. PM me I might be able to help you. Most of my family is in Hydaburg...

But my dad grew up in Juneau and he used to call it the "Hydroburg of the World."

We're supposed to get some, I hope I did last night up high. I made some wolf sets yesterday but it was warm and sunny, so I couldn't find decent snow to cover with, I just added a pinch on my wax papers to keep them in place and I've been hoping the weather people are right for once. I hope they're wrong this time! More snow means I cant get out and set some traps. But it does mean I will be able to see any fresh tracks and sign

We are having 40* temps with a drizzle of rain. Not the kind of weather that makes for good trapping.  Thats warm.

Been a warm year in the southeast. Had a cold snap in November that got things decently cold but it's been hovering between 34 and 38 the last two months straight. Thanks to that theres a layer of ice on most of the ponds that isn't safe to walk on but is just enough to make the water inaccessible.
I don't love shoveling but even I'm a bit disappointed by how little snow there's been this year. The skiers must be angry.

Thats a very nice size wolf. The biggest thing I caught was a 100lb wolf. It was the biggest of the three wolves me and my partner caught I've caught several in the 80-95 pound range, only a couple over 100. That's why I laugh every time someone says they caught a 120+ pound wolf. Not that they don't exist, but everyone thinks the wolf they just caught is 125 pounds or more, so if they're all telling the truth, I guess I catch a disproportionate amount of young ones I caught one last year that weighed 126 lbs. It looked like a Shetland pony standing there in the trap! Yeah, I take most peoples weights of wolves and bears with grain of salt. First wolf I ever caught was a 110 lb maile, I only ever weighed one or two after that, up until the 126 lber last year, because I knew none of them were as big as my first. I took pictures of the scale on the big one.

Husky, I was in Alaska back in 89 and plan on getting back 1 day... Nice! The warmest part of winter is November and December, but the really cold temps come around in February.

How much is a Lower 48 marten worth? Look at the Idaho sale results. Rusty averaged $67 on his bunch so I'd guess the Basis was $80+
