Can BTO freeze or will that wreck it?

BTO and pure Trout oil will thicken like bearing grease but I never had any freeze.

It will have to be applied with a butter knife or stout stick in that condition.

It will return to a fluid state typically at room temperature without any change in quality. Pure quality oil will last a long time with reasonable storage consideration.

I've had it down below zero and it thickens up but doesn't turn solid, I can still squeeze it out of my flip top bottles but it is about the consistency of toothpaste.

I been watching some on the shelf in my shop, it changes with the temp, as mentioned, but still looks the same given the temps. Smells the same to my nose, but I am just a trapper.

It may not be the same everywhere, but the sludge left over from making bto is more attractive than the bto itself for me. Get some of Bob Js trout oil if you need an attractive oil to use!
