I think the first 100 marten I sold went to Rhoda's dad, Martin? Another guy from Ruby area took his, and my fur at xmas time, 1979 Got a Quote from your uncle Frank when he was buying. When I would show up in Unk with Marten, folks said mine were bigger than around there.
26 and 1/2 is a big marten anywhere. Not too sure I've ever seen a 27.
Hoping you post a pic holding a hundred or so furs before you're done!

Unless you're french, the website really tough to navigate, but Marc is pretty good with english on the phone. Accessories, page 5, some cool clips on page 6. It's how I anchor all my 330s now, fast & easy. Build your own for whatever length you want.

Shakeyjake told me about the Mactrap place. I had a hard time with the french on their website. Marc speaks English and he works there but it was still not easy for me. I went to Dam Beaver instead.

I found them at Dam Beaver trap site in Canada and had no problem ordering them online. The shipping takes about a month after Canada delivers it to the border/customs. But all my packages have been delivered and all the items were there. They carry things we have never seen.

https://www.dambeaver.ca/

Hint: they have the rat trap bait triggers that go on a Victor Rat Trap. It makes the rat trap a pull type trap and is excellent for Ermine. $5 for a dozen. I have never found these in America.

They also sell the clips above 10 to a package, with or without cable etc. Order the Heavy Duty snare tree locks and you can make your own whatever length you want with your cable. Or just order it from Mactrap and get the premade cable extensions. I have cable and didn't want their lengths and didn't want to pay for shipping cable. So I make my own.

My Super Wide will pull your broken down 4 stroke, up a hill backwards, with you on it!

Dam Beaver is a great store, that's where I order my LDL 120's. They have great deals on all types of traps. I ordered my clips from Trapper Gord before I was able to find Dam Beaver. I was looking high and low for them, I even called Mactrap but they wouldn't ship to me. The Snare Shop had them on their website but they're never in stock.

Update Time:

Boy did I have myself a day yesterday! Marten really picked up and I got my best check with 13. This is my first year trapping hard for Marten and best season prior was a whopping 7 marten for the year. I was in bum marten country though and didn't have very much sets out. I'm hoping I reach 100 for the year before I have to snap marten gear in another month. I'm almost there alright but anything can happen. I've learned a lot in my first season of marten trapping and I'm looking forward to next season. We got some nice snow that was just a little wet, but that gave it a nice cushion to lessen the blow on the tundra. Got a couple marten catches in 330 sets along the ridge, I was able to take them out without replacing the traps. There was some thick ice fog on the ridge and for the rest of the way home. The video is uploaded on youtube now hope you enjoy!

I ask for anyone reading to keep your thoughts and prayers for our village here Unalakleet and for the region. The Norton Sound area is devastated by the missing Bering Air flight from Unalakleet to Nome that disappeared close to Nome off the coast yesterday afternoon. As of now there is no signs of the missing plane and the 10 people that were on it. There is a strong search effort that started last night and hopefully they find something today now that it has cleared up.

I'm heading to Anchorage today and will be doing Iditarod trail work all next week so I won't be back on here for a while.

You can find info and Pictures I think, on the Nome Volunteer Fire Dept. facebook page. The aircraft has been found. No survivors. Pretty gruesome. Might be pics on the KNOM website or FB page.
This should be the story.

Pretty sure the weather was bad, Ken. Aircraft is totally destroyed. Check Nome volunteer FD Facebook page and KNOM FB page. Picture of wreck on sea ice there somewhere. All 10 deceased have been recovered. Aircraft parts being recovered also.
Likely icing and deice didn't keep up. Wreckage in many pieces.

When I was checking traps that day It was thick ice fog in the hills but Unalakleet is quite aways from the crash site, but I believe the conditions were similar.
