Wow, Vermeer plant had at least one building damaged badly, guy walking around in parking lot said every vehicle was totaled, one guy said, why didn't I park here! Lol, luckily it was during a shift change and fewer people were at the plant

I understand one hit Marshalltown as well. I worked there on the new power plant back in 2016.

Not a lot of fond memories of the area, but there was a good BBQ joint there... Smokin' G's I think it was called.

I worked just north of marshalltown in 1980, I saw pics of city buildings damaged in marshalltown

Marshalltown was hit pretty hard. Pretty large tornado struck right downtown and did a lot of damage.

Wow a lot of good videos on u tube, top of church steeple went on one video, huge white clouds when a house blew apart, sheetrock dust!

I understand the courthouse bell tower was damaged or destroyed. Kinda sad, neat looking old building. That whole downtown square was nice. There is/was a store that sold fur clothing there.

Oh that's what went, almost looked like a Church steeple, that Vermeer plant is huge, tornado went through the middle of it

Funny I was reading about them and thought of you Tac 20. The older i get the less I enjoy wild things like tornadoes. Used to go watch the clouds on the porch. Now with children I find myself ducking down. Had a gal I know post a pic of two down at once as they drove through Iowa.
