We had a mandatory evacuation in place yesterday and it has been lifted at lunch time today. Our governor in SC suffers from premature evacuation. At least for the southern part of the state Going to get a bit of flooding around these parts but nothing more. And flooding does not affect us at all. Funny thing is that all government offices are close for the week. I guess they just want to get paid while lounging on the beach.

We're mid state, and always stay.......bout 3 hrs to the coast.
Have secured the campers, readied the horse stalls, filled propane tanks, tested the generators, filled 7 5 gal cans of gas, and all 5 vehicles, bought much canned meats and veggies, filled xtra totes of water for horses....and loaned the boat to 82nd Airborne Spec Op friends stationed at Ft Bragg, who will do rescues on Friday/Saturday/Sunday.....

I saw on the computer where they suggest filling 1 gallon ziplock bags with water and putting them in your freezer. You can thaw them as needed and they also help keep the freezer cold during a power outage.

Staying as well. About 30 minutes from John and am as prepared as I can get.

If I was anywhere close to the coast where landfall is projected, I would be leaving. I hope nobody stays on the barrier islands but I am sure someone will.

Eastern NC is flat and flooding from all the rain will be as bad or worse than the wind once you get a few miles from the beach. Gonna be a mess for sure.

Staying. I'm 81 miles as the crow flies north and west of Wilmington. Just far enough inland for the old girl to hopefully scrub off some wind speed. There'll be lots of rain though. We're up on a plateau, so I'm not worried about flooding. These big white and red oaks around the house kind of gives me the jitters. We use to have a lot more of them before Fran, Bertha, Floyd and others visited us.

You have to chose the folks you hang out with better Paul .... I mean .. they come and visit, then take a tree or five when they leave.

Staying, were in franklin co which is directly in its path. Plus we raise quail and there’s 60,000 of them in poultry houses. Never dealt with flooding like we’re going to get, please pray that they don’t flood too bad!

I'm in the piedmont but the hunt club is 30mi from the coast. Just boosted the earth barrier around the lodge an additional 3', all the feeders, boats and farm eq are put up on the highest ground possible. Two of the care-takers taking up residence at my place. If she stalls in-state the rivers are gonna crest something fierce while the whole state drains right back where the brunt of the storm hit. Prayers for the coasties & low-landers.

Over here in Myrtle Beach it's like a ghost town. Most folks along the coast headed out yesterday.

A trap is only a trap if you dont know about it. If you know about it, its a challenge

That is probably a good thing as the forecast track continues to move further south with every new advisory. And if it almost stalls just off shore for a 24 hour period as is currently indicated, the coast is really gonna get hammered with wind and water.
