Grady white 226 seafarer. Needs a bit of love here and there...but first step is to mount the downriggers!

They are nice boats ..... I work on a few of those ..... They can take a bit of weather as well. Don't ask me how I know that

I have a fifteen kicker motor for it, but I do need to install a motor bracket. A bit of gel repair inside here and there. Hull is good. Maybe some bottom paint. Plus me and the wife fit in the cabin! Cushions are good, but needs a memory foam topper. Should be lots of fun! Gonna set up a small propane burner and a marine barbecue on it. That and a cooler and good for a long weekend for sure!

And guthooked, a lot of people I know vertical jig the Lakers. I have downriggers because someone gave them to me new in box years ago. May as well put them to work. I haven't fished Laker much out of a boat in the past, but plan on starting!

Id need ten grand in gas just to drive to a place that has tuna! Pretty far from salt water here!

I'll settle for some trout for the smoker

We always caught them near the bottom trolling very slow like 1.5mph .

When mounting them down riggers put a plate up under the fiberglass and on top to reinforce it or it will spider web.

Guthhooked, will be sure to add a good solid something underneath. Likely use 5200 marine adhesive to attach a plate to bolt through and spread out the force. The downriggers are cannon unitrolls that extend to like six feet, so it will need it. I am in my infancy when it comes to downrigging. Need to learn a lot.

I need to get a kicker bracket too. Then see if my 5 horse Honda will push it, or if I need to put the 15 Merc on it. Hoping the 5 will do it.

Got it mostly all figured out. Caught some bass and tried out the livewell last night. Worked fine. Haven't slept on it yet but maybe this weekend just for the heck of it.

I don't work for the boat division of the marina, I do construction, but we just delivered a 28 foot Grady worth $300000.00. cool boat. We are getting their biggest model in as soon as they make it for us. We have a 38 here a customer owns and is trading for their new 45 footer. Now that's a heck of a boat!! I don't know the price of that one, but it's closing in on two million I believe.

Glad to have a used one!
