I was just curious on selling my fur. Since I don't have a fur buyers license do I need one to sell to NAFA or even buy fur from a small auction around me? Thanks for the feedback everyone. i would like to start my own fur shed where I can buy animals off people but I see I need a fur buyers license for that.

First off NAFA doesn't buy your fur they sale it for you. In Indiana you don't need a fur buyers license to sale fur but you need one to buy fur.

To buy fur from people bringing the animal to you or from auctions or both?

You do not need a fur buyers license to buy fur at NAFA or FHA.

Depending on your state laws, you may need a state fur buyers license to possess the raw fur that you buy at NAFA or FHA.

Most states require a fur buyers license for you to buy raw fur in your state. Colorado is an exception - they do not require a fur buyers license. Which is a plus for the upcoming CTA sale in Hugo.

If you do buy fur at NAFA or FHA, you will probably need an import/export license to bring the pelts into the US. Or you will need to hire a broker that has the proper licenses.
