If you have to ask, you may want to hold off on the selling part of it. Spend some time and develop some stuff. Test it and make sure its good before you go selling. I would probably do a fish base.

Tons and tons of information on coon baits on this forum and archives. My suggestion is start reading and testing. The testing will help you become a better trapper and when you become a good trapper you will have a better idea what it takes to be considered a great bait. I'm assuming from your other posts your a beginner trapper.

People who sell baits and lures have my utmost respect because when done right, they have months to years in the making, testing in different parts of the country and time of year. Then there is the expense of making labels, buying jars and lids that won’t leak, having an inventory of ingredients to work from, having lockable storage that won’t offend the family or neighbors as products age, and so on. All of this before you sell your first ounce of product. It wouldn’t surprise me if the actual cost wasn’t thousands of dollars when you consider your time is worth $$ when going thru all of this.

I would first decide if you want a coon bait that is taste or smell bait, then go from there. A coon bait that draws and works the best for dirt holes and pockets with a foot trap may be different than a bait to get the coon into a dp or cage.
