Just got home from day one and had a good time. Came away with a pretty good haul but as soon as I got home remembered several things I should have grabbed.

I was only planning on getting the dozen of the NoBS beaver traps that I pre-ordered from Kendall, but the MB650 cast with the super stakes was just too good of a deal to pass. Did find a couple of old Dobbins Woodchipper in 4oz bottles for $10. Still full and smelled just as good to my nose.

I was looking forward to going tomorrow. Plans were changed this week. My oldest daughters mare is in heart failure and rapidly declining. She is being put down tomorrow morning so I need to get a hold dug and tend to the horse first and foremost.

Looks like you made out well CK

Planning on going out to McPherson in October now.

Never ran into Rusty but he could have been there. Excellent site location and facilities. All the help was excellent and all the cooks were very good. The Search family and rest of you working in the kitchen and serving all the food as well as those manning the gates and booths all are greatly appreciated! Thank you for all the hard work for another wonderful convention!
And yes Clay - I really would like to see some squirrel skinning demos.....

Good to see some folks like Tim Reed and others I haven't seen for about 10 years. Miss picking his brain about plants and roots.

Yes, Rusty was moving into his new home this weekend was the word I got.
It was one of the best conventions that we have had in several years. Excellent attendance, folks were spending money, the auction was very successful and made us money. Kendell donated a bear trap painted like an American flag that brought $2700!
If those Iowa and Minnesota dealers weren’t such a bad influence, my head wouldn’t have felt so bad Saturday morning.
Thursday evening I fried the breasts off 3 big turkey gobblers, 5 lbs of frog legs, 8 lbs of shrimp, and 10 lbs of potatoes for the folks who helped set up, a few dealers, and some of the early arrivals. There wasn’t a crumb left.
Good times!
