I always make sure I leave my hitch in the receiver when I'm forced to St. Louis. Lol

I did forget to remove my turn over ball one afternoon, we went to the state fair that evening.
A day or two later I went to hook the gooseneck back up.
Guess what. Some low rent no good loser had stolen it while we were at the tractor pull.

That happend to me in the salt roads of Wisconsin.

This I can identify with. I mean whacking the shin part. And it definitely smarts.

Try the log chain hooked to the ball trick and snap it like a whip. Also works to pull wheel bearings.

If you get one that's stuck in there, don't hammer on the ball first thing. Hammer on what the ball is bolted to.
Hammer the sides of it back and forth, and then hammer it up and down.
Then hit it one good lick on the end to see if it will move a bit inward.
Doing it this way gives you the best chance to break loose the rust bond on all four sides inside that square tube.
Once you get some movement, hit ball and drive it out of the hole.

it is a good thing all my traiers are a 2 inch ball

the 2000 expecidtion has had the ball stuck since I had to beat it in in 2019

the 2001 E350 had the hitch stuck from about 2011 on , tried all the things to get it out and nothing worked scrapped that van in 2019


now I keep them out and spray the receiver with fluid film or waste oil regularly

I keep a quart spray bottle outside the garage with waste oil in it for spraying my small fleet of oil rusty vehicles any time I work on any thing.

Never happened to me, but, I saw a 2 yr old rip his head open down to the bone, and almost bled out from it. Not a good day.
