I doubt "soft" is an option!

I'm looking for info also. Would prefer to find someone to do the tanning, but may have to journey into a new venture.

That’s like asking a feller exactly where his best honey hole fishing spots are, or where his secret berry patches are, what’s in his secret bbq sauce handed down several generations, or where his ginseng patches are.

Looks awesome Tatiana! There’s a fella near by that buys tails by the thousands. He makes wallets and stuff, but I’m guessing most must be sold to other manufacturers after he tans them. He’s incredibly tough to get ahold of and is pretty tight lipped. I even check the obituaries after he went awol for a few months……lol. Nope, he’s just super busy.

I've been making leather work out of beaver tails for years, and never have I seen dying work like this, amazing and so eye catching !! There is a guy on this forum that has done work as long as I, and I know he does tail tanning for him self, but not seen any comments from him, probably due to his own market sales, can understand that as well though !
Not a fan of the sewing machine stitching, but each is own !! I've always hand laced the edging and felt it more personal for me to sale it that way
It is fortunate for you to be able to use chemicals that we cannot attain in our own personal work, sometimes rules for safety interfere with our needs for product production on a home based business, this is what I have found when I stopped doing leather tanning, it took way to much time to do the tanning, then have any time to produce the hand leather finish to make it worth the time to sell.
I would welcome a company that could do work like this in a country I could trust to send tails to, but have not found that either that I could trust to do so. Most require a huge amount of tails for doing and then it's quite some time to get them back and also no color or dying work.
Any ideas on this would be appreciated, I know there is a lot of tails still in market, but just no where to have them done to my needs for leather work. Not being cheap by any means, but 500 to a 1000 tails for one order is a real bad investment when these producers will not even send an example for seeing if they are pliable enough for use and selling !!
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !

There used to be an exotic leathers company in Colorado that did chrome tanning. Back about 25 years ago I asked about getting beaver tails done and they would only agree to a barrel full for an order.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Get a hold of the world leather institute in India. They will tell you where to find a tannery to do your tanning.
