Anyone use muskrat meat for bobcat bait? I've got to catch some muskrats for a youth project and was wondering if the meat would work for our cat line that will be starting in a couple weeks. I generally use beaver or bobcat for my bait.

Muskrat works pretty well for bobcat bait.

I eat all the ones I catch, so don’t know. But, as good as they taste, I would surmise it would be a good option.

I have caught a fair number of bobcats on muskrat baits. They like it. I even caught three in 110 conibear boxes (baited with muskrat) set for spotted skunks and ringtails.

I've caught a lot of muskrats using muskrat for bait.

I don't think there's anything I haven't caught while usin muskrat for bait. I know beavers are vegatarians but I guess they can be curious.
