Works great but the j hooks it makes are like a cm to long to fit in some of my swivels.is there a trick I'm missing to make short tighter j hooks?

I'm slowly converting everything to sterling swivels but won't have time until post season

May have to wait to close the eye of the hook until is through the swivel. Kind of like if doing a washer for pogo anchors.

I can get em closed the problem I have is with the first bend I think.

If I bend it to 40-45 degrees like the instructions say the j hooks is too long to fit in some of the smaller swivels. If I bend it 20-30 degrees it's shorter but is a bear to fit in on the second bend and often bends back a bit or slips ruining the j hook, but when it works it makes a nice smaller j hook

Can you put the finished J hook in a vise and compress it just enough to get your clearance... squeeze it from nail head to the outside of the bend... shorten the overall length until they are both fit in the swivel body.
