The LTAHA annual convention which normally takes place in April each year, has been moved to November at the request of many members. This year's convention will be held at the Kiwanis Camp in Pineville, LA, on Kiwanis Camp Rd Exd. There will be an evening meal for those wishing to attend at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 15. Mr. Chuck Sturgis will cook a squirrel mulligan, and Tony Howard will have rabbit stew. This evening meal is to gather beforehand in a relaxing time for board members and friends. There are several hotels nearby as we do not have lodging available at this event.

Gates open at 7:30 AM on Saturday, November 16th. Okie Trapping Supplies will be on hand with traps and supplies. You can contact him ahead of time and have anything he carries delivered to the convention. Jeb with Okie Supplies is traveling from northern OK to help promote our event, please help him out and make him feel welcome.

8:30 AM, Tony Howard will start the morning off with a beaver demo. Tony will demo a few of his favorite sets and explain his blending techniques and the importance of solid stabilizing. Tony will also demo skinning a beaver.

9:30 AM, Lauren Dreher will demo how she is so successful with Arkansas Bobcats. Lauren will explain how many new trappers acquire more tools and equipment than is needed to be successful. Lauren traps with friends and alone in central Arkansas.

10:30 AM Eric Yeatman will explain how he sets up his high number trap line in Mississippi. Eric lives in Central Mississippi and harvests large numbers of eastern coyotes for the live market and nuisance industry.

Our general member meeting will begin at 11:30 am with the president's report and an open nomination for the board of directors position. Ballots will be printed if necessary and elections will be during the lunch hour. During the day we will be selling playing cards from two decks of cards for our two gun raffles. These are the best odds ever, with a 1 in 108 chance to win a gun. Cards are $20 each.

At Noon, lunch will begin and is being provided this year by Punch N Tails of Marksville LA. They will have fish, shrimp, and jambalaya ranging in price from $15 to $18 for the meal with a drink provided. Please make plans to stay and support our new vendors and enjoy eating and talking with our members.

At 1 PM we will start the annual LTAHA auction with many novelty items and great fun. The auction is our largest fundraiser each year. I know there is a custom one-of-a-kind quilt being donated this year. We will take debit/credit cards and cash. The auction will run till its completion and then we will have fellowship while we clear up.

We will have our all-new shirt design and new colors available this year. We also have new beanies and caps with the awesome coil-spring trap and LTAHA logo. Come out and enjoy the day seeing old friends and making new ones. We will see you there.
