I'm a little slow.....but do people actually pay someone to trap mice

Yes. And people will pay for just about anything. Lazy, unable, incapable, afraid, clueless, more money than they know what to do with.
Regarding mice, or wildlife in general, they usually want the problem solved, which means exclusion. Mice can be very difficult to seal out.

Yes. People will pay for anything they don’t know how to, or don’t want to do themselves.

Do the copper wool and or copper mesh keep out rodents at openings in wood around perimeter of older house.....they don't eat thru it to enter ?

Define rodent. If you don’t put it in well, rats and red squirrels will go through it. Their sole purpose in life is to make ADC guys who aren’t being careful about exclusion and trapping look stupid.

Mice work is keeping me busy right now. You will run into the homeowners that think they can trap them and no need to pay you. Then when you look around you see like 3 or 4 traps with no bait on floating 2 feet from the wall. Also, as others have said, there are people who just don't have time or know how, like cutting grass.

It can also be difficult to compete with pest control prices for mice Control. The difference being is the exclusion work an ADC guy should offer. The majority of the money is in the exclusion work. So offer the trapping, but also offer the seal up to potentially solve the problem for good, instead of a never ending maintenance program.

I am seeing more and more people looking for the seal up instead of just setting traps and putting rodenticide out.
