Yes, I've got a Wood Mizer. It may not look like it, but all the outbuildings are made with 2-sided logs. That way. each log has a big bearing surface for the next log up, and is better-insulated and more stable. When the logs are all peeled and are 2-sided, construction takes about a day. The roof is usually done the second day.
Jack One of my sons has a friend who.just bought a Wood Mixer last summer. They've been having a blast with it. My son jokes that his buddy works as an electrician to support his logger/ sawmill hobby.

Tax-wise it hasn't hurt us yet. To be taxed, they need to be on a "real" foundation in our County. Cinder blocks don't count as "real". If the building can be jacked up and moved, it doesn't get taxed as long as it's less than 200 square feet and an "accessory" building. The County always wants our money, we'll see how long the little buildings last.''

Nice pics Jack. Curious about the inside of your banya and if you have two rooms or if you are wide open. I built one last year with an electric shower at my cabin. Growing up in a Doukaboor community every farm yard had a banya. All different styles. Mines 8x12. Change room and wood storage in a 5x8 and banya 7x8. Stove is fed from the change room and goes through the wall into the banya. All my outbuildings at the cabin are on skids, even the cabin. Temporary construction and can be moved anytime….for tax purposes…… they will never move Banya pics that I have. Need to take a few more. Outside isnt finished yet. Probably going to be used cedar siding off a buddies house Change room. Behind the blue barrel is where the wood stove goes through the wall. Looking through the door into the banya Blue barrel is my water tank for my electric shower. Floor is cedar with a slopped floor under that to a drain that flows out the back over a hill Still have a bit of things to add but a shower and banya are the best outbuilding I have at the trapping cabin.

Indeed, sir Jack. You and I are fortunate .
BTW- you're gonna LOVE my special TIGER....he is coming right along in progress. Just am almost finishing up his eyes. You could just dive into that deep liquid greens and Amber...he will be staring right at you. The finishing touch will be the white reflections on the eyes that bring them to life in depth. And those long white whiskers !
I'm taking shots of various stages , as I did the wolverine. He is almost out of the psychedelic phase now . Am doing the stripes and the fur textures.
Been thinking of you the whole process. What an adventure just dealing with these colours and stripes...my first serious tiger portrait...fit for a biologist's book. You had best post pic's when done! LOL

Jack Very cool! Ive got an old linnlumber mill. About 36"x27' capacity...big enough for pretty much anything up here. Its amazing the doors a tool like that can open!
