Spent a couple days in South Dakota fishing this week. Didn't catch alot, but did get a couple nice ones.

Looks like you had a good time. Good to see some places still get cold winters. Use to ice fish here about three months out of the year. That's now a thing of the past. We're lucky to get any walkable ice anymore. This warming trend for years now sucks.

We are still open water trapping, maybe start making ice after the first.

It keeps warming up and melting the ice we get. Gonna get in the mid 40’s next week. I would have to drive over on hour north to find fishable ice.

I've got wet otter trapping a couple times this winter, but that's moving water so it's never very trustworthy. I see guys out on all the lakes and ponds though

Lots of guys doing well on the big lakes of Montana and Dakota. I have friends on rivers doing fair not near as good as the big lakes.

Gonna check the ice tomorrow at the cabin in wi about 1.5 hours northeast of st Paul, hoping we have enough the kids are going crazy for ice fishing

Yes, we were in the Waubay area. Not alot of people fishing, but we were there Tues.-Fri. Sooo, I reckon that had alot to do with it.
