I do not understand how folks who can not do it themselves can afford the rates this day and time to fix simple things like leaky faucets or light switches gone bad. Flush valves fall into that category also. So, yes, I have lots of spare parts I have accumulated over the years and they do come in very handy at times. I have never paid someone to change an element or thermostat in a water heater or even install a new one. And my kids also picked up on the need to be able to fix the simple things and do a lot of their own maintenance themselves.

The internet and YouTube has made it a lot easier to figure out how to fix a lot of common problems yourself as well. I have used YouTube to help diagnose and order parts to fix washer and dryer problems.

It's also pertinent to have a water shut-off going to the toilet. I lost my balance at 1:30 a.m. and fell onto the toilet, breaking the fill tank. Fortunately there was a shutoff. I went shopping at Menards the next morning.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Nope, buy it as I need it, 15 minutes to town. I also have 4 bathrooms in my house so there's that.

no but you just reminded me I need to order another oven ignitor , they take a few days to get here and typically find out about the time something should be going in the oven.

I only have the one toilet but I can easily flush it with a bucket the tub is right there.

I keep spare parts for many things the toilet just doesn't happen to be one of them.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
