Well, look at this !!! Even expanding the Road System in Alaska !!!
9. Matanuska-Susitna Borough, AK Towns include: Wasilla Job growth (2000-2008): 58.5%
Is this a hot place for jobs? In the words of its most famous resident, you betcha! Employment in the borough (Alaska's equivalent to a county) has grown an average of 5.5% each year for the past decade.
While many residents commute to nearby Anchorage for work, locals are thriving from the tourism trade. With 2,000 miles of mountain biking and horseback riding trails and six rivers designated for rafting, canoeing and salmon fishing, Matanuska-Susitna offers plenty of reasons to keep visitors coming back.
But it's not all fun and game fishing. Development of a large prison, Olympic ski resort and $80 million of new road projects are all underway, bringing many more construction and service jobs to the area.

Florida is out, Alabama is off the list, Arizona and Nevada are way too hot for even me !! 2010 ALASKA, I AM MOVING IN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Break out the Porterhouse Steaks , Apple Pies, and don't forget to have the WELCOME WAGON with the "WELCOME , NEW NEIGHBOR" banner hanging out at the City limits waiting for me when I get there !! The way I see it, what's one more New Yorker in Alaska ?? Checked all the places in Alaska to set roots in, it's a BIG State, you know !! Thought about Bethel, then I watched that YOUTUBE video of it and just about fell off the chair!! ( Loved that song in the video. The words to it could have just as well been about Florida !! ) Thought about Nome and took a look at the City. I said "As soon as I get to Nome, I will want to head back home !!" There were other places that looked nice, but were too far away, cost to much to live there and just did not interest me. So........ I settled on the Anchorage Borough. Not City , but yet not too far from City convienences .1 to 1 1/2 hour drive to Anchorage when I need to get to the City . AND IT IS ON THE ROAD !!!

Besieds the doctors in AK aren't taking any more medicare patients ( no joke). that is how we keep out the old people...

Crap and BS is what that is. I have a tourist store and I'm down 65% from last year.
