If you want quality a place that I can vouch for is Coal Point Seafood in Homer. http://www.welovefish.com/She buys all my halibut. They are daily caught fish as opposed to fish that sit on a boat for days. Flash frozen the same day. She is all about purchasing quality from selected fisherman that have proven themselves to produce a quality product over the years. Salmon, Halibut and more. The father to the Hillstrand brothers on Deadliest catch built the business with a dream to get commercial fisherman closer to the consumer.

I agree will Otterman, except....I'd would rather eat a dime bright chum rather than a silver.

I find the Silvers to have a strong flavor, and realy dont like to eat them at all..most people here dont either. our Chums are real nice and rich..they have more fat than most kings do..they are not the pale meat mushy ones otterman is talking about though..I have seen those and agree.. and I realy dont like the reds that are so dry either..they make OK dry fish though...and believe it or not I have had dried/smoked Humpys that were "To Die For"...

I agree with freezing chums....yuck!, but I've eaten many of them that went from the net to the grill. I'd take a fresh, from the net chum over a fresh, from the net silver.

We caught a King and a sheefish yesterday. The Sheefish was fanatastic. The meat on them in the summer seems softer than the one we caught yesterday.
The water is very low here too. It would take a LOT of rain to get things to normal.
As far as I know, we do not get a fall run of chums.

My dog loves Kings too.....
I tried eatin some yesterday, and after the over abundance of cajun seasoning I put on it, burned out my tongue, it was GREAT..
But the first 5 or 6 bites were dreaded.....
I think them white kings are fishier.......
