This is our summer Chum,(and a Pink on the right) these Chums are sold as Arctic Keta, and bring 70 cents a Lb to the fisherman...the fall run is a much bigger fish and brings a Buck a Lb...they have a very mild flavor, and firm meat, and are exelent eating,(my favorite)...they have a higher oil content than most King Salmon..in other parts of the state.

Why did the Chicken cross the road?
So he could get shot when he gets to the other side
We get out of life only as much as we really want and work hard enough to achieve

Well tonight I cooked up a red fillet and a chum fillet, the same way. Friend of mine who swore chums were TERRIBLE, but realized they are quite tasty when they are dime bright.
It was a bit softer and milder tasting than the red was. Both were fantastic though.
I survived the Tman crash of '06

That would be the one put on by the local Historical Society, I believe. Sounds like our yearly Tulip Festival. Found this: " She said she doubted that the outsiders who descended upon the quirky, picturesque town, most likely from Anchorage and other parts of the Mat-Su Valley, were there to help raise money for the historical society. Read more: http://www.adn.com/2009/07/13/863142/talkeetna-moose-dropping-festival.html#ixzz0svbubZqd " Now, what makes that nice ,little Town "quirky " ?
